Little and Friday

Friday is my sewing day. It's my child free, ignore the house work and concentrate on all the stuff I need to make day. I normally guard it jealously as every moment counts, but when my lovely friend suggested we take a walk up to cafe I've been dying to visit, I jumped at the chance to catch up with her and try the cafe too.

There were so many wonderful things to order but in the end I chose a gluten free orange and orange blossom water cake. I'm not allergic to gluten but it just looked and sounded so good, I had to try it. The topping was the most incredible crystallised orange peel. Our tree at home is full of lemons at the moment so I am going to try doing something similar with the lemon peel.

Michelle had a savoury muffin. Both of our coffees were amazing. I'll definately be going back for more! We sat outside because inside was full. The inside table is full of magazines and recipe books. Next time hopefully, we can grab a place inside so we can have a good look at those books too. You can just see the bright yellow linoleum through the door. Such gorgeous decor.

I love this old Mickey Mouse presiding over the cutlery table.

The cafe is called Little and Friday and it's at 43C Eversleigh Road,Takapuna, Auckland. It's open Wednesday to Sunday, 8am-3pm. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Now I'd better go and catch up on my sewing! Hope you have a great day today.

This is my favourite cake shop at the moment, the little chocolate cakes are to die for, and the lemon and coconut too... !

Ahhh for child free days - I too am rather protective of my 3 hours on a Thursday morning!

That sounds so lovely - loving that they have recipe books to read! Aren't you lucky to have a child-free day.
