Just so you know...

Just so you know, Salmon have wool like sheep and little legs which they use to run along the bottom of rivers. That's how they travel so far and jump so high.

Just so you know, baby Salmon are called lambons. They are wooly like big salmon, but smaller and cuter.

Just so you know, when bears catch salmon to eat, the wool gets stuck in their teeth. Luckily, they can use the little legs as toothpicks.

Just so you know, Mr Cotton Kiwi is not going to be popular when Maddy finds out none of the above is true.

My Dad told me great big stories like this one too. A lot. He once told me that my Nanna had started World War 2 by putting holes in the parachutes. He took us to the museum to show us the holes (air vents) to prove his point. I think we possibly looked at Nan sideways for quite some time.

My Dad also told me that 3 wheeled cars were for people with one leg. I believed that one until I was about 19.

Did your Dad ever make stuff up? What did he tell you?

Yes. Thunder is made when two clouds bash into each other ... I believed that until about a few years ago.

Hahaha that is too cute! I remember my Uncle used to pretend to catch moths and eat them. I believed him for years and thought it was soo gross! He still does it too, tricking his grandchildren now!

I love the drawings! My dad used to do hilarious drawings, but describing them here would not do them justice. his silly stories included the one about him working at the circus as a lad - he apparently did jojo tricks in the big top and trained fleas. seeing as he was a dab hand at jojo tricks, we believed him. he also played harmonica, which added to the circus mystique. the story about him climbing up the side of his friend's house with crampons is true though.....

Oh where do I start? My grandfather and cousins on the Irish side of my family have all kiss the blaney stone and have plenty of tall tales. Mr C.Kiwi will probably appreciate "Great lies to tell small kids", Andy Riley - this seriously had me in tears (of laughter)

Hahaha - that is sooooo cute! I don't remember my dad telling me stories like that, but I do remember hearing a few stories at school that had me confused for quite some time!!
