My Creative Space

My Creative Space is making a bed for Kipper.
aka "the cat that likes to get in the way".

The measuring for the correct fit didn't go too well.

But I think we can safely say he's not too worried about fit.

or comfort.

Perhaps something in a more boyish colour?

and which doesn't involve socks and undies?

Must be near his favourite people

and definately inside.
What do you reckon? Do you think there is any point? I'm thinking of using a recycled sweater and fabric scraps for stuffing. Have any of you made a bed that your cat has loved? Do any of you know of fabulous cat bed tutorials out there? Please do let me know!

(p.s. no cats or people were harmed in the making of this blog post)

What a great post - it's put a huge smile on my face. Probably no point really making one as he has several already! x

Love the barbie box haha..What a character...I'd say anything that's old and worn will be a fave for him..As long as he thinks you still need it that is :P

Your cat is amazing!
It must be nice for the children to have such a good friend hanging around - interested in everything they do!

Such a cute cat. It doesn't look like he needs a bed of his very own. Maybe just a jumper thrown on the floor.

Looks like he's quite comfy in his own choice of snuggly places!! Gorgeous cat, and great photos!

That's why I am such a cat person!! They are the perfect play toy, pillow, friend, helper etc. Hehe We made a bed for our cat Dory... In the end I ended up removing the pillow and lined it with old t-shirts... she loves it now!!

I love your cat stories. Its a long story, but mine love a little hand towel on the floor, it works wonders when by the heater, on the chair, on my bed or somewhere they are not familiar with. I do want to make them proper beds for the new house though.

I really wish I was not allergic to cats, sneezing just looking at the monitor...

He's a cat, so he will do the exact opposite to what you want:) Unless it suits him.

Gorgeous post. Can you make Jager one too after you've made Kipper one? He is nearly too big for Kipper's previous reject. I'm thinking leopord print because we live out West.

Kipper is hilarious!

Our cats most prefer:
1. wherever we have just been sitting [especially if we are only getting up for a moment -- they're very fast!]
2. any box
3. they are crazy for fake sheepskin [the kind snuggle bear is made of http://www.snuggle.com/promotions/promo_signup.aspx ] and stuffed animals -- the very fuzzy ones, especially when sprinkled with a little catnip.

thanks for stopping by my blog :]

This is just the most gorgeous post. And totally cat, gets the spirit of Kipper and cat behaviour perfectly. Kipper looks quite a bit like my Turtle, a male version. xo

I hope if you do make it, it is well loved and used. Our very spoilt dog got a big lush expensive bed and he isn’t interested in it at all!

He is sooooo cute - obviously very much part of family life.

What a lovely cat, my two sleep anywhere they like, I've now given up trying to get them to sleep in their 'dedicated' beds.

Cats in boxes always make me laugh! The way they get themselves in there and then sleep - amazing. Super sweet post.

oh my goodness, my little girl would just love it if our cat slept in her bed! unfortunately, he's still just coming to terms with her coming within an inch of him!!!

That is just the best post Sarah! I have had a crazy full on day and I am completely exhausted but you and your cat have made me laugh and I feel heaps better now. Thanks and love. X

love your post! what an excellent cat. my cat when i was a child loved to curl up in a4 paper box lids, wayyy too small and falling out all over the place just like yours. that expression on kipper's face in the last photo where he's stuck outside is a classic!
my other half made a scratching post climbing frame with a shelf on top for her to sit for our cat which she refuses to use. hope your moggie bed doesn't get a similar treatment

That photo of Kipper in the box with all the little toys is brilliant!!! What a charismatic cat. Hope you have a super weekend :)
