Devonport Craft Market tomorrow!

Hip hip hooray! Its another Devonport Craft Market tomorrow and I really can't wait. One of the benefits of organising the market is being able to set my stall up the evening before whilst our fantastic "Table Boys" set up all the other tables and sort the venue out. There was such a beautiful light coming through the windows whilst we set up today that I couldn't resist a photo of my stall.
Putting the markets on every month is an awful lot of hard work for Sarah and I but I really do love it when they come around again. Its a chance to see a whole bunch of friends and like minded peeps and I get to see all the beautiful things they have been working on all month. I don't have too many new things this month but I do have this lovely wee elephant who I'm rather fond of. Her name is Rosie. I sold my other elephant, Wilfred, at Kraftbomb last week and I felt the need to replace him. Let's hope she gets a lovely new home tomorrow.

The best thing about tomorrow is that my wonderful parents and my Nan will be visiting the market for the first time. They are in Auckland for one day on a cruise. Fantastic timing! I can't wait to see them. Lots to look forward to. See you tomorrow.

Clever Kiwis Etsy Treasury

I was inspired by Cat Taylor's blog post earlier this week to create my own Etsy Treasury. So much fun and waiting for the counter to get down to 333 was almost like winning something!

Thanks

to all the lovely people who came to Kraftbomb today!

I got to sit next to the incredibly talented Jamie of Porcelain Rove and admire her wonderful pottery close up. I love her Movember mugs

I indulged and got the Bird journal in this group from Ruby in the Dust journal:

The illustrations inside it are just beautiful. Love it. Thanks so much for saving it for me Heleen!

Skin of my teeth

Just about to go and pack my car for Kraftbomb but couldn't resist including a pic of my latest stall additions.

See you there!

Kraftbomb tomorrow!

Kraftbomb tomorrow and I'm rather excited! It was too sunny today to
stay inside and craft so we went here instead:
Kare Kare beach ... just stunning.
The beach was wonderful and the last minute dinner invitation from friends was even better.
It may well be a late night for me though. I have a couple more
of these new dollies to finish off before bed.

Hope to see you tomorrow.

Just dotty about this fabric...

I love it when I get the opportunity to make something special for someone.

I met a lovely lady at Crafternoon Tea last Saturday and she was drawn to some fabric I had made up into a baby bib. The problem was that she was a little too grown up to wear a bib. Here's what I made for her instead:

The little girls are from a piece of Michael Miller "Dick and Jane" fabric and the lining is some beautiful soft shirting.

This is a close up of the other side.

It's going to it's new home tomorrow. Thank you F for asking me to make it for you!

I'm working on some other commissions at the moment so I'll post pics when I've finished them.

A great day for Tea

I had a lovely time at Auckland's newest craft market yesterday. Crafternoon Tea was a great success despite the hideous weather.

It was lovely to see some friends from The Devonport Craft Market selling there and to meet some amazing new sellers.

My particular favourite was the SofTings stall. Jennie Walker makes the most beautiful portrait dolls with handpainted faces as well as a whole bunch of other incredible goodies. Here are a couple of her dolls.

I've ordered one and one of her cushions. Can't wait to get them!

I met some wonderfully interesting people who came to buy too and was thrilled to see lots of my brooches go to new homes. This may have helped with that:

It was on the front page of the Herald Time Out. Several lovely people told me that they were what had brought them down to the market. A huge thrill!
I will be at Kraftbomb this coming Sunday so I will be making lots more before then.
Kraftbomb is on at the Grey Lynn Community Centre Sunday 25th October 11-2
Hope to see you there!
